FAQs
Everything you need to know before your first class.
Things People Ask
Can I come and watch a class before I join?
Please do. Email us and we'll point you at a good session to drop in on — you can watch, meet the coaches, and get a feel for the room without training or paying for anything. Plenty of members started exactly that way.
Will I be the least fit person there?
Almost certainly not — and it wouldn't matter if you were. People arrive at every level of fitness, and Muay Thai is a skill before it's a workout: you'll spend your first classes learning to stand, move and wrap your hands, not trying to keep up with anyone. Everyone in that room started somewhere, and most of them remember it clearly.
Do I have to spar?
No. Beginners and Fundamentals classes don't spar at all — you'll be working on technique, pads and bag work. Light controlled sparring is part of our Intermediate class, and it's something you opt into when you're ready, not something that gets sprung on you.
Do I need any experience to start?
None at all. Our Beginners class is open to complete newcomers as well as anyone with prior experience, and builds real foundations at a manageable pace. If you'd like some dedicated grounding first, keep an eye out for our four-week Fundamentals course — a small-group, step-by-step introduction to hand wrapping, stance, and the core movements, with no experience assumed.
What should I bring to my first class?
New comers: just comfortable workout gear and a water bottle — we'll provide gloves for your trial classes, no kit required to get started.
Existing members: you'll need your own gear from there on (hand wraps, gloves, mouthguard, and shin guards where needed). We ask everyone to bring their own once they're training regularly — it keeps the gym clean and protects the whole team.
Can I try before I commit to a membership?
Yes — our Trial Pass gives new members 3 weeks of unlimited classes for $80.
Can I bring a friend to train with me?
Yes — every weekly membership (Founding Member, 2-Class and Unlimited) comes with a guest pass: one guest trains free with you, once a week. Add them from your member portal to a class you're already booked into, and they'll get an email asking them to sign our waiver and give us an emergency contact before class — we can't let anyone on the mats without it. We'll lend them gloves; they just need comfortable gear and a water bottle. Each person gets one free class as a guest. After that, a Trial Pass is the next step for them — $80 for 3 weeks of unlimited classes.
Can I pause or cancel my membership?
Recurring memberships can be paused for a limited number of weeks per 12-month period (check your member portal for your current allowance). Cancellations must be made via written communication to hello@onelovemuaythai.com.au.
Do you have showers and change rooms?
Yes — we've put real investment into our facilities, not just our mats. There are separate male and female change rooms, with two non-gendered toilets and two non-gendered showers. Train before or after work, freshen up, and get on with your day.
